Dubai Autodrome set for speed bonanza with Hankook 24H

Dubai Autodrome is all set to host the 10th edition of the Hankook 24H Dubai this week.

With 90 cars on the grid, including over 400 drivers on duty, the 2015 edition which which kicks off with track action on Wednesday, will be one of the largest in the event’s history.

The FIA granted the Hankook 24H Series, organised by Creventic in co-operation with the Dutch National Racing Team (DNRT), full international status with Dubai the opening round of the six-round endurance series. 

“We are delighted with this news, because it gives another boost to our rapidly growing series,” declared Gerrie Willems on behalf of Creventic.

This year’s entry list boasts all the major sportscar manufacturers, including the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Lamborghini, Corvette, Nissan, Maserati, Audi and Aston Martin.

An impressive line-up of drivers will also be in action, including Bernd Schneider, Jeroen Bleekemolen, Andreas Simonsen and Peter Kox among others.

Some of the region’s finest will also battle it out, including Abdulaziz Al Faisal, Karim Al Azhari, Khaled Al Qubaisi and Mohammed Jawa.

The Dubai Autodrome paddock will be a hive of activity with a myriad of off-track entertainment and attractions for the whole family, with free entry to the circuit.

Qualifying will take place on Thursday, between 15:00 and 17:30, with the race set to be flagged off at 14:00 on Friday and the chequered flag to be waved at 14:00 on Saturday.
