Max Verstappen looking forward to “some good fun” at Singapore Grand Prix

As the original F1 night race, Singapore offers its own set of specific challenges with, among other difficulties, an offset weekend schedule destined to keep proceedings in sync with Europe.

– EVENT: Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2015
– Abu Dhabi GP: Organisers promise best ever weekend
– QUIZ: Your chance to win AED1000 voucher at Girders

Toro Rosso junior Max Verstappen heads to the first flyaway event with good knowledge of the track layout itself, having fulfilled his usual SIM racing routine beforehand.

But that’s not to say that the demanding street race can’t throw a few spanners into the works although the impressive Dutchman, who picked up some good points in Hungary and Belgium but failed to finish in the top 10 in Italy, is ready to take it all in his stride, as usual.

“Racing in Singapore is going to be something really special,” Verstappen believes. “I’m really looking forward to the challenge.

“It reminds me of Monaco, as we will be driving close to the walls and it won’t be easy to overtake, but I’m sure we will have some good fun out there!”

Young Max isn’t accustomed to racing under the floodlights but doesn’t foresee any major difficulties, having added a good dose of carrots to his diet this week !

“Don’t they say carrots are good to improve your eyesight?”, he jokingly asks. “It’s true that we’ve already experienced a bit of night racing in Bahrain this year, but that was a permanent track and now we will be racing on a street circuit, which is always more tricky…”
