Wadi Bih Run Hatta and other UAE fitness events to look forward to in October and November

ROY NASR MEMORIAL TRIATHLON

Saturday, October 12

The Roy Nasr Memorial Triathlon is now in its seventh year and the event has gone from strength to strength with more than 1,000 participants set to take part on Saturday.

So far about 800 people have signed up for the event at Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Hotel in Dubai, to honour the life of the Lebanese.

Open to 11-year-olds and above, there are different categories for adults and juniors, no matter what your background experience and ability are.

Super Sprint consists of a 375km swim, 10km bike ride followed by a 2.5km run. For those who are more advanced, then the Sprint options are available, swimming for 750m, a 20km bike ride and a 5km run.

MAI CITY HALF MARATHON
Friday, October 25

Registration is open for the first-ever City Half Marathon taking place in the heart of the Dubai International Financial Centre later this year.

This new, ultra-modern route around one of the most photographed financial districts in the world is a first for Dubai, providing a unique opportunity for participants to run in the shadows of the iconic skyline and experience the beat of the inner city.

The route features breathtaking views of the city’s well-known, architectural marvels, which organisers expect will attract thousands of runners and spectators from across the globe.

The City Half Marathon is open to participants aged 16 and over and will feature 5km, 10km and 21km race categories.

JEBEL HAFEET CHALLENGE
Friday, October 25

Runners will scale 1,240 metres to climb to the top of the UAE’s highest peak (12.5kms in total).

The race, which begins at 6AM, starts at Green Mubazarrah Park – situated at the base of the mountain – and runs up Jebel Hafeet Road and all the way to the summit.

Water stations will be available every 2kms as riders cycle on the hard shoulder of the winding road.

Shuttles transport participants to and from the starting and finishing points, with a post-race presentation being held at the Mercure Hotel.

URBAN-ULTRA ROCKRUNNER
Friday, October 25

The single-stage trail run adventure (5k, 10k or 15k) will start and finish at the beautiful Wadi Showka.

Including a 5k Junior event for your kids, this is a great event for the whole family.

WADI BIH HATTA

Friday, November 15

Back by popular demand, the Reebok Wadi Bih Run returns to the UAE event scene, but this time the Hatta hills will play host to hundreds of keen athletes, corporate teams and fitness fans.

With a majestic mountain backdrop and brand-new routes, the race – held on Friday, November 9 – promises to be a run calendar highlight as participants tackle distances of up to 70km in a team relay or as an individual.

This special edition marks the addition of another beautiful UAE location and Wadi Bih’s second outdoor running event of the year – the first being the famous 72km run held in Dibba in February.

The exciting new Hatta course offers 35km, 20km and 10km distances, welcoming all abilities and levels.

URBAN ULTRA UTX50
Friday, November 29

Starting and finishing in the northern emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, the incredible Urban-Ultra UTX50 ultra-trail run adventure takes you into the wilderness of the United Arab Emirates.

The fully supported single-stage race will see you transcend through 50km of rocky mountain terrain and over the spectacular sand dunes of the Emirate.

This is a race not to be missed and one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year.
