Zumba creator Beto Perez is taking the region by storm as he brings his renowned fitness craze to Abu Dhabi for the first time.

Perez and his team will lead a 90-minute Zumba session tomorrow (Friday) at Du Forum on Yas Island as they aim to make participants sweat and dance. 

The full-body cardio workout will burn calories and have you moving to the tunes of chart-topping international music like hip-hop, salsa, meringue and samba.

The event kicks off at 18:00 with a festive atmosphere as a DJ spins records and prizes are given away.

Then, at 20:00, the instructors will begin with a warm-up before Perez takes participants through the 90-minute class.

Perez, a Colombian-born dancer and choreographer, started as a fitness instructor in his come city of Cali before one day using salsa and meringue music to teach his class.

The unique style caught on and along with Alberto Perlman and Alberto Aghion, Perez formed Zumba Fitness, which has become the largest branded dance-fitness programme in the world with 15 million weekly class participants across 180-plus countries.
