We’ve all been there.

There are days when we just don’t feel like working out and are suffering from a dip in enthusiasm.

It’s not easy to get out of a slump and back to the training ethic you want to display on a regular basis, but our three top tips will help you do just that.

Try these for starters and see if you can get that training bug back.

TRAIN WITH FRIENDS

Some people like to train on their own and there’s nothing wrong with that, but if you’re struggling to hit the gym and achieve your goals – start to workout with a friend.

Having someone to talk to and bounce fitness goals and ideas off during a session can really help. It’s always motivating to have someone pushing you and willing you to get better.

You can also challenge one another, record your progress and catch up on life in general during and in-between different exercises.

TRAIN AT A DIFFERENT TIME OF DAY

You may be a morning runner or gym-goer before you start work, but try and mix-up your routine to keep things fresh.

For example, train on a morning one day and the next during the evening.

Subtle changes can really make the difference and also allow you to build in adequate rest time too.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF

From tracking your progress on your smartphone to joining a club or entering a race, a challenge can really help you.

Whether it’s a short-term or long-term target, having something to focus on and work towards will keep you motivated.
