Running is the easiest way to get fitter and is incredibly effective at making you mentally and physically healthier.

With the weather cooling down, it’s the perfect time to dust off the running shoes and get your body moving.

If you’re living in Abu Dhabi and looking to improve your fitness, check out these five running routes.

THE CORNICHE

A 4km stretch with a dedicated running track and plenty of stalls to stop and purchase water along the way. There is also access to run the beach if you want to venture off route. It starts from Mina Zayed and ends at intersection A7 on the Corniche.

YAS MARINA CIRCUIT

On Tuesday evenings, runners and cyclists have the chance to run around one of Formula One’s most iconic tracks. Each lap is 5.5km and the circuit is open from 6-8.30pm. Remember to register online to avoid disappointment.

ZAYED SPORTS CITY

With little traffic and plenty of space, Zayed Sports City is one of the best locations in the capital to enjoy a leisurely run. Although there is no set track, it is perfect for runners looking for space and tranquility.

AL RAHA BEACH

Al Raha Beach is a popular route for serious runners who want to escape the traffic and overpopulation of dog walkers around the city. Start at Al Bandar and continue to Al Zeina, 4km of beautiful scenery.

MUSHRIF PARK

If you live in the Mushrif Park area, you can enjoy a run around one of the oldest parks in Abu Dhabi. The park has a running track that is approximately 1.8km long. General admission is 5 AED  and it is open 10am-10pm daily.’
