In almost perfect playing conditions, Ray Stanton and Larry Benson scored a whopping 44 points for victory by two points and a place in the UAE Final and the chance to win an allexpenses paid trip to Spain to represent the UAE in the World Final in October 2016.
Tied for second and third on 42 points were the teams of Harry van Wyck and Hye Sook Jee, and Jeff Glasgow and Jim Muirhead, with the former taking the runners-up spot on a countback.
Galeppini’s combine well at Emirates Creek Pairs
Edoardo and Beatrice Galeppini came out on top with a betterball Stableford score of 40 points as they won the November edition of the OMA Emirates Creek Pairs tournament.
There were plenty of other good performances throughout the field and the scoring was very tight with only three points separating the top three teams.
The pairing of Yves Aboukhaled and Johnny Ray and Tejan Fadlu- Deen and Dwight Yorke finished runners-up and third with scores of 39 and 38 points respectfully.
Glory Xavier and Adhip Shankar claimed the nearest to the pin prizes on the par-3 eighth and 16th holes.
Darbyshire and Kiddie edge RAK Mixed Open title
Sharon Darbyshire and John Kiddie collected the decennial event trophies after carding a solid 38 points in betterball stableford format to win the 10th RAK Mixed Open.
Sharon and John dovetailed well together carding 18 points on the front and 20 on the back nine, the highlight coming on the 18th hole when John managed to slip in a birdie for four points.
The runners-up and third place winners required a countback as both Andy Spavin with partner Paula Svensson and Mohammed Darwish with wife Rabab carded identical 37 points.
Andy and Paula’s back nine 21 clinched them the second place.
