Shashan Feng will be looking to etch her name into the record books when she bids to become the only three-time winner of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters.

Feng, who is now ranked world No6 and spearheads the golf revolution in China, will try to go one better than the legendary Annika Sorenstam, winner of the first two editions of the season-ending tournament of the Ladies European Tour.

The Omega Dubai Ladies Masters takes place from December 9-12 at Emirates Golf Club.

Last year, the Guangzhou ace strolled to an emphatic five-shot win with a 19-under par effort after winning the 2012 event with a similar margin and a 21-under par tally.

Feng, the only golfer from China, man or woman, to win a major (the 2012 Women’s PGA Championship), will be joined by Laura Davies, social media sensation Paige Spiranac, 2013 champion Pornanong Phatlum, and Charley Hull among others in a strong field.

“I’ve got great memories of Dubai and it will be fun to get back to a golf course where I have had a good run. I will once again try and post a top-five finish,” said Feng, who finished inside the top-five in her only other visit to Dubai in 2013.

“Of course, if I have a chance to do better, I will go for it. Obviously, finishing the season with a win and becoming the only one with three titles will make me really happy.

“This is one of my favourite stops on the LET. I’m very excited and looking forward to what I believe will be a strong competition.”

Feng has already assured herself the LET Order of Merit title by taking her earnings to €324,213, which is €93,4366 ahead of Denmark’s Nicole Broch Larsen.
