Golf in Abu Dhabi ambassador Matteo Manassero to host Saadyat Beach clinic

Four-time European Tour winner Matteo Manassero will give exclusive professional tuition and an insight into life on Tour when he hosts an event at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club on Monday, November 2.

The Golf in Abu Dhabi ambassador will welcome amateur players from the UK, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Japan, South Korea, India and South Africa to the Arabian Gulf’s first beachfront course.

The day will involve a golfing clinic and Q&A with Manassero. The participating golfers – who will also play the Yas Links and Abu Dhabi Golf Club courses and be given the opportunity to take on Manassero in a ‘Beat The Pro’ contest on Saadiyat’s par-3, 6th.

As part of proceedings, a Stableford competition will be staged at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, with 72 players taking part.

Italian 22-year-old Manassero – who often spends time in Abu Dhabi to prepare for European Tour events – will also offer swing and set-up tips to the international field.

“I’m really looking forward to visiting Abu Dhabi again and interacting with golfers from all over the world,” said Manassero.

“Golf-wise Abu Dhabi is a very special place. The three main championship courses are all so different and you can have a whole week of golf without ever getting bored.

“Being a global golf ambassador for Abu Dhabi is an important association for me because I genuinely believe in the strength of the emirate’s golfing credentials.

“The ‘Golf in Abu Dhabi’ initiative also seems to be gathering pace and I’m pleased to be able to assist in its development as part of Abu Dhabi’s ongoing golf tourism plan.”

Developing the international reputation of Abu Dhabi as a golfing destination is a priority for Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) – the driving force behind the Golf in Abu Dhabi initiative.

“We are working hard with our Golf In Abu Dhabi partners to build awareness of a world-class golfing destination and increase golfing visitors from Europe, China, India, South Africa and within the UAE,” said Faisal Al Sheikh, TCA Abu Dhabi’s Events Bureau Director.
