The week of lessons is already under way, but there’s still time to attend the final sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

Buchanan will give an introduction and touch on all aspects of the game, providing both an educational and fun experience.

“It’s not aimed at any specific ability or age group, it’s a little bit of a mix which is quite nice,” said Buchanan.

“Obviously a lot of the kids I teach go back home for the holidays, but for any of the ones that are still out here, it’s something a little bit different.

“I’m just trying to make it a little bit fun. With that, you can do pretty much work on the same things for an hour. I also mix it up as much as possible with competitions and things like that.”

The lessons begins with a warmup before heading into chipping and putting, then full swing irons with drivers and woods, followed by a competition to conclude the day. The competitions feature shooting at different targets at various ranges both outside on the course and inside in the swing studio. For kids who are more advanced, the lessons will adjust to make it challenging for all.

“It’s kind of a little bit of everything,” said Buchanan. “Depending on numbers or kids, we’ll go on to a bit of more advanced stuff. It depends on the level of where they’re at really. It’s not dead set or anything. Even if you haven’t played before, it’s a great way into the game and get a whole morning of it to see the different parts of the game.

“Instead of having a high ability group and ones that haven’t played before, it’s more accessible to everyone and more flexible.”

The lessons take place from 09:00 to 13:00 with the cost of Dh200 per day, which includes lunch. To attend the sessions, contact Buchanan at abuchanan@ yaslinks.com or call 02 810 7710.
