Mohamed Juma Buamaim, vice chairman and CEO of golf in DUBAi, and Ivan Khodabakhsh, CEO of the Ladies European Tour, announced the agreement at Emirates Golf Club, however, there was no immediate revelation whether the prize purse would be increased for the coming years.

Buamaim said the decision to extend the contract was easy, given the impressive increase in the number of ladies who have started playing the game in the region.

“We are looking forward to many more years of unforgettable sporting moments,” he said.

“The renewal of the contract is a testament to the growing global popularity of the sport and golf tourism in the region and Dubai, in particular. We are, indeed, very happy to continue our association with LET because we believe in women’s golf.

“The partnership with LET provides us with a fantastic platform to develop women’s golf.

“It makes our lives much more easier to say to people in this part of the world that this is a sport for everybody, especially for young girls who work very hard.”

Khodabakhsh added: “We are here to develop women’s golf and we hope that our players, especially young players, can inspire a huge new generation of picking up the sport.
