Jordan Spieth has unsurprisingly been voted PGA Tour Player of the Year after five wins this season, including the Masters and US Open.

– EurAsia Cup: Clarke and Singh named captains
– Spieth: Plotting two decades of domination

PGA Tour members who played in at least 15 official money events this season were eligible to vote, with the ballot ending on October 1, four days after Spieth’s victory in the Tour Championship also secured the FedEx Cup title and a $10million bonus.

The 22-year-old world No 1 is the youngest player of the year since Tiger Woods won it at the age of 21 in 1997.

“Our young stars shone brighter than ever before, but none brighter than Jordan Spieth,” PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem said.

“He captivated us throughout a memorable year. And the sportsmanship he displayed in both victory and defeat was a stirring indication of the role model he has become.”
