2010 – Phil Mickelson
In a tournament where all eyes were on Tiger Woods, who was making his competitive return to the game after his personal issues that led to his divorce, it was Phil Mickelson who won his third Green Jacket by denying Lee Westwood in the final round. The Englishman was steady, but Mickelson was spectacular. The second shot from the pine trees on the 13th hole is now part of Masters folklore.
2011 – Charl Schwartzel
The tournament will forever be known for Rory McIlroy’s meltdown over the back nine on Sunday, but Charl Schwartzel emerged a worthy winner by making four birdies in a row over the last four holes to close with a 66. The final day also witnessed a Tiger Woods charge, and three Australians falling short of winning a first Masters for their country.
2012 – Bubba Watson
It needed a magical shot from Bubba Watson to counter another from Louis Oosthuizen. The South African made an albatross on the second hole from 260 yards, but Watson caught up in regulation with four straight birdies from the 13th. A massive hooked wedge shot, rated by many as one of the greatest shots in Masters history, won him the Green Jacket on the first playoff hole.
2013 – Adam Scott
It did not take Adam Scott much time to recover from his heartbreaking loss at the 2012 Open Championship. After beating Angel Cabrera in a playoff, he became the first Australian golfer to win The Masters. The tournament will also be remembered for the 14-year-old Chinese amateur, Tianlang Guan, who became the youngest to play and make the cut at Augusta National.
2014 – Bubba Watson
Bubba Watson put paid to a fairy-tale ending for 20-year-old Jordan Spieth, who was attempting to become the first rookie since Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979 to win the Masters. He started the final round tied at five-under par, but Sunday did not go according to plan and the steady Watson won his second Green Jacket.
