The biggest attraction of the tournament this year was the fact that Spieth and McIlroy were going head-to-head, and millions of spectators around the globe will be able to see them play the first 36 holes together.

McIlroy is the reigning European No1, and will be making his first start of the season this week. He won his last start – the DP World Tour Championship.

Spieth is the reigning FedEx Cup champion on the PGA Tour and kicked off his season in great style, winning the Hyundai Tournament of Champions by eight shots.

The trio tee off at 7:40am on Thursday morning from the 10th tee.

Another stellar group goes off just 10 minutes after them at 7:50am featuring three-time winner Martin Kaymer, alongside defending champion Gary Stal and world No5 Henrik Stenson.
