The temperature might be rising but newbies can pick up the game and develop their skills this summer at The Peter Cowen Academy at Emirates Golf Club.

Their new package is suitable for beginners who want to learn the basics and enhance their knowledge in a sport that is widely played in the UAE.

Priced at Dh345 per person, the programme is divided into three 45-minute sessions inclusive of an introduction, short game, long game, putting and on-course play. Each class will cover the fundamentals of the game as well as other areas like golf swing mechanics, body motion, ball striking and the art of the short game.

On top of that, you don’t need to purchase your own clubs with all guests receiving complimentary equipment hire and practice balls to use over the week.

The package was only launched this year but Stephen Deane, head golf professional at Emirates Golf Club, says there’s already been strong interest so far.

“The package is brand new, however we have received a lot of interest from residents looking to get into the game of golf,” he said. “Our previously launched “Learn Golf in a Week package” was extremely successful and gained tremendous attraction at the club.”

Deane believes there’s many positives on why people should take advantage of this offer.

“The package provides a great introduction to the game of golf, it enables participants to get an introduction to the game,” he said.

“The package offers good value for money with all equipment  provided, allowing aspiring golfers to get a taste of the game.  Many of the participants from the Learn Golf in a Week package have gone on to take further lessons and progress to playing on initially the Par 3 course and then 18 hole golf courses.

“Spread across the course of a week, golf enthusiasts will receive three 45-minute sessions, led by qualified professionals at the Peter Cowen Academy.

“With a maximum group size of 10, the guests are ensured a supportive and quality training programme. As the lessons are conducted in a group setting, it is a great thing to do with friends in a friendly atmosphere.”
