Laguna Waterpark is set to become the year-round surfing hub of Dubai with the introduction of two epic surf sessions that will provide the thrill of riding a real ocean wave in the heart of beachfront hotspot, La Mer.

Nicknamed ‘The Ultimate Surf Machine’, The WaveOz 180 FlowRider – Laguna Waterpark’s star attraction – is now home to daily stand-up surf lessons and the eagerly awaited 180 Flow Club, where members can learn from three-time world FlowRider champion, Clayton Barker, as well as the UAE Flow Riding team.

For just Dh75 per hour (on top of general admission price to Laguna Waterpark), riders can upgrade from a body board to a stand-up board and test their skills at Laguna Waterpark’s stand-up surf lessons. These will be available daily from 10:00 to 20:00, marking another first in the region with the ability to offer stand-up FlowBoarding during operating hours, thanks to WaveOz 180’s capacity to be divided into multi-rider options.

Barker will also be on hand to teach a multitude of tricks that will have FlowRiding enthusiasts carving out new moves such as the ‘Barrel Roll’ or ‘360’s in no time at the 180 Flow ClubTaking place every Saturday from 08:00 to 11:00 and priced at just Dh175 per person, surfers can expect plenty of shredding, coaching time and potentially, wipe-outs. Classes are limited to a maximum of 20 participants per session.

For Barker, he’s pleased to be sharing his knowledge to people in the UAE. “Laguna Waterpark is the place to learn the tricks on the highest capacity surfing machine in the region and I’m thrilled to be able to share my knowledge and passion with the surf enthusiasts of Dubai,” he said.

“This is the next generation competition wave of the future and I’m sure there will be some new talent emerging from the 180 Flow Club in no time!”

On top of that, the Surf zone at Laguna Waterpark is complete with chill-out area, F&B kiosks and space for a DJ, making it the perfect place to hang-out with friends and experience the best simulated surfing experience in Dubai.
