After two successful cricket tournaments, Fit On Click and Fitness First Middle East are to host their maiden football competition with registration still open.

Their ‘Corporate Football Tournament Dubai 2017’ will be held from May 12 to May 19 at Sportzone, Fitness First Meadows as 16 teams battle for glory in the six-a-side format.

The event is part of the organisers’ vision in their commitment to providing exciting platforms for corporate employees to be fit and active.

“Through this and other sports engagement activities, we encourage corporate employees in UAE to maintain a healthy lifestyle by playing a sport they enjoy in a fun and competitive environment,” said Ben Samuel, Founder and CEO of Fit on Click.

“Our previous two cricket tournaments were catered to mostly Asians. Those proved to be very successful. We had 16 teams in our first edition and in the second there were 24 sides. The feedback we got from all the teams who participated was positive.

“This time, we want to involve all the ethnicities in the UAE to come out and get involved in sports activities and this is why we have decided to launch the Corporate Football Tournament.”

Teams will be split into four groups with games lasting 30 minutes each on May 12 with the qualifiers the following weekend.

While entry numbers have so far been encouraging, Samuel says there will be plenty of positives by taking part even if teams do not get their hands on the winning trophy.

“Although it’s a football tournament and prizes can be won, the true vision and the most important thing we want to achieve is to improve the working relationship among employees. By playing in the tournament, it will allow you to stimulate teamwork, enhance confidence, improve communication skills and work better as a team in the office. For sure, it will have a positive impact on the company.”

He added: “We want to play a big role in allowing people in the UAE to play as many sporting activities and the Corporate Football Tournament Dubai 2017 allows them to do exactly that in what will be fun and competitive.”
