Here’s your chance to swap the office for the outdoor fields, as the most popular Daman Hercules Trophy returns with two new events in the UAE.
Taking place on Thursday April 20 in Mushrif Park, Dubai, followed two days later in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, corporates, in teams of four, will test themselves over 12 unique challenges in the battle to become the overall champion.
Previous editions proved to be a huge success and this month’s is set to be no different with more than 60 teams expected to participate.
While it will be a different scenario to what corporates are used to in everyday life, the competition allows companies to enjoy a teambuilding afternoon combined with sport, fun, networking and party.
Yves Vekemans, president and CEO of Hercules Trophy, said: “We are thrilled to be launching in the UAE once more. “The half-day event is the perfect combination between learning new skills and bonding with colleagues and meeting new friends. We also welcome families and spectators to enjoy the day with us.”
Whether you’re someone who regularly excercises or not, the event is emphasised on participation rather than their athletic skills.
In it to win it: More than 60 teams are expected to compete for silverware.
For those who sign up, they can look forward to tackling 12 ‘Herculean Labours’ challenges, ranging from kart building, archery and mountain climbing.
Even if you’re not competing, you can still show your support in what will be a vibrant atmosphere with DJs, dancers and activities all lined up at the Corporate Festival.
With registration still open, Dr Michael Bitzer, chief executive of Daman Health, said: “It is very encouraging to see that our initiative is endorsed by some of the biggest corporate names. While this is a corporate event, it is the individuals that truly benefit as they get to experience how fun physical activities can be.
“Initiatives such as this, and the ones we offer through our ActiveLife initiatives are designed to mobilise people to get physically fit and maintain a healthy living and hope that people participating will continue with including physical activity in their daily routine.”
