When it comes to cricket there’s no better place for youths to learn the game than at the ICC Academy in Dubai.

Since opening in 2009, the venue has become the hot-spot for not just the stars of tomorrow but also top international players. The likes of Kevin Pietersen, David Warner and Sachin Tendulkar are just some of the players to visit when touring the UAE.

That’s no surprise considering their world-class facilities and top coaching programmes. And with the schools breaking up at the end of the month, ICC Academy have organised their Babyshop Easter camps from March 26 to 30, and April 2 to 6, for children to sharpen their skills and make new friends.

Children aged between 3 to 6 can look forward to learning some of the basic skills including hand-eye co-ordination, balance, agility, catching and batting in the Babyshop Cricket Cubs camp.

For youths aged between 7 to 12, the Warriors camp will see them learn specialist batting techniques, bowling, fielding as well as play interactive and fun games against their peers.

ICC Academy are no strangers to hosting camps with their summer editions proving hugely popular, and this month’s will be no different.

“Since launching our cricket programmes they have been very successful and support players from ages 3 to 18,” said Will Kitchen, general manager at ICC Academy.

“The great thing about cricket is that is has so many different aspects. There are various kinds of bowling variations, fielding positions, batting positions, game formats etc that there’s genuinely something for everyone.”

The Babyshop Cricket Cubs Camp sessions take place from 16:00 to 16:45 with the price costing Dh500. The Warriors camp is held from 09:00 to 12:00 and is priced at Dh900 which includes lunch.

With a few days to go, Kitchen insists there will be plenty of positives for children who sign up.

“There really is no other facility like ICC Academy in the world,” he said.
