Having produced top cricketers for the last decade, Maxtalent Global Sports are now giving the opportunity for budding footballers to hone their skills at their new academy.

Their Soccer Maxway Academy was launched earlier this month with registration now open for youths to join.

Running every Friday and Saturday mornings from 07:00 to 09:00 at Al Nasr Sports Club, Dubai, players aged between five and 20 can develop their skills and knowledge under head coach and former Indian international Ignatius Pereira.

Having coached some promising cricketers in the UAE, Maxtalent’s managing director Sudhakar Shetty said it was the right time to open a football academy.

“We’ve been coaching kids in cricket for a long time and during our time in the UAE and given Maxtalent Global Sports are now in its 10th year, I thought what a better time to start than launching the football academy,” he said.

“I’ve been thinking about this idea for two years and now my personal dream of launching this has now come true.”

Although the UAE boasts a number of football institutions, Shetty insists those who join will look forward to some exciting sessions.

A reliable name: Maxtalent Global Sports are delving into football after building up young cricketers for the past decade.

“The main emphasis we want to bring is fun and to allow the children to enjoy themselves,” he said. “The sessions will be honing and developing their skills and introducing the sport for those who are new.”

And although it’s less than a month old, Shetty has big plans. “We have high standards that we want to adhere to and we are already planning to organise summer, winter and special clinic camps giving more opportunity for children,” he said.

“Plans are drawn to invite a legend of the game to inspire our young trainees and sending our teams overseas to provide that extra mile of advantage to our trainees.”

He added: “Having run the cricket academy successfully, I’m confident for the exciting challenges ahead in making the soccer academy a big hit as well.

“We see a huge potential out there and we want to play our part in producing footballers and ensure children live a healthy lifestyle and we ask all those who are interested to join us for the new year.”
