It’s that time of the year again when football is in the air and outdoor pitches are inviting after a long, hot summer.

Those who want to continue to get better at the sport can get their fix with Dubai Sports City’s Football Academy, which has kicked off for a new season.

Both Spanish Soccer Schools and Spanish Soccer Kids programmes have been expanded to get even more children active in the local community.

On offer this year for Spanish Soccer Schools are programmes for under-10s, under-12s and under-14s, while under-16s and teenagers under 18 can develop their skills before moving on to undergraduate studies.

Spanish Soccer Kids, meanwhile, now includes children aged four-and-a-half-years-old up to eight.

“This season is our fourth, and we feel that it’s going to be particularly big for us,” said Dubai Sports City president Khalid Al Zarooni.

“The number of new children that will be experiencing the joy of football has grown as we have expanded our age groups which will make this one of the most dynamic years in the Spanish Soccer School history. It certainly promises to be one of the most fun and exciting years for both the kids and the coaches.”

Spanish Soccer Schools have also entered into a partnership with neighbouring Victory Heights Primary School, allowing the primary school kids to be coached both on campus and at the Football Academy.

The youngest aspiring footballers, meanwhile, can begin their journey with the Socatots programme, which caters for toddlers aged one-and-a-half to four.

The Football Academy’s coaches are all UEFA licensed and have high-level playing experience with clubs like Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid legend Michel Salgado, the Football Academy’s director, said: “Here at Dubai Sports City we want to encourage as many people, whatever their age and ability, to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. The expansion of our Spanish Soccer School programme combined with our new initiative with Victory Heights Primary School really demonstrates we are making that possible.”

Registration is now open and, for more information, visit www.spanishsoccerschool.com.
