Going Out: Dubai Sports World offers a summer camp for everybody

There’s still nearly a month remaining of indoor activities at Dubai Sports World and kids can take advantage by joining any one of the many summer camps available.

Stay active as the temperature rises outdoors at the Dubai World Trade Center facility, open until August 27.

Camps on offer include the International Football Academy (IFA), KAFO Academy, Hoops Basketball Academy, G Force Sports, Tennis 360 and Dubai Pro Wrestling Academy.

For football lovers, IFA and KAFO Academy are the place to be. IFA runs three-hour sessions sessions for ages four to 16 with a focus on the fundamentals, while also developing technical abilities and tactical knowledge of the game.

Running daily from Sunday to Thursday, the IFA sessions are priced from Dh125 per day, with week-long packages costing Dh500. Siblings are eligible for a 10 per cent discount as well.

KAFO Academy, meanwhile, is run by Frederic Kanoute, two-time African Footballer of the Year. Sessions last three hours daily, with prices at Dh125 per day, Dh500 for a week and Dh1,800 for a month.

Go from the pitch to the blacktop with Hoops Basketball Academy and get ready to score buckets.

Run by former NBA player Kenneth Smith, you can pay Dh75 per hour, Dh500 per week or Dh1,200 per month for the three-hour sessions, taking place from Sunday to Thursday.

If a bat and ball is more your style, G Force Sports has you covered with cricket coaching sessions from ex-West Indies captain Jimmy Adams.

Classes are held five times a week, with individual sessions costing Dh75 for a day, Dh350 for a week and Dh600 for 10 sessions.

Tennis enthusiasts haven’t been left out as Tennis 360 offers its own training programmes for those who want to enjoy the sport, aged three-12.

The three-hour sessions are held from Sunday to Thursday, with prices starting at Dh300 per day, while an hourly session costs Dh140 per class.

Finally, wrestling fans don’t have to be resigned to just watching on TV as they can finally get in the ring and experience it themselves.

Dubai Pro Wrestling Academy, the first and only pro-wrestling academy in the UAE, will teach wrestling in a fun, but safe environment.

The classes, open to ages five and older, run from Sunday to Thursday and cost Dh100 per hour or Dh750 for 10 sessions.
