Situated at Le Meridien, the venue has become a firm favourite for sports fans in the capital with major football, cricket and tennis matches drawing big crowds.

And Euro 2016 has been no different. Hundreds have flocked to the cafe since the opening day of the competition and with it reaching the latter stages, including tonight’s intriguing contest between Germany and Italy, that number will certainly increase.

“NRG Sports Cafe is definitely one of the sportiest bars in town,” said Kristofer Bremstrom, Food & Beverage Director. “Football fans mainly from Europe have gathered to watch the games and the atmosphere has been really good. We have been busy throughout the tournament and the crowd has been creating a nice ambiance in the venue.

“Now we have reached the knockout phase, we also see an increased interest of fans who want to follow their team as the tournament is getting more exciting.”

As well as its sporting theme interior, one of the big pluses is the number of television screens. There are more than 10 plasmas inside the venue, meaning wherever you sit or stand, you will not miss that important goal or incident.

Besides watching the matches, there is also a wide variety of food and beverage options, with nachos and steaks to choose from. And those visiting between 19:30 and 21:30 can look forward to receiving 50 per cent off their bills thanks to the daily happy hour promotions.

“We want to make the visit memorable for all the guests who visit NRG Sports Cafe,” said Bremstrom. “We have great screens and attentive service. The games will get more intense and for the semi-finals and final (on July 10), we’ll show the games outdoors on a 192-inch plasma – the largest in Abu Dhabi.

“The atmosphere will be absolutely vibrant and we are looking forward to welcome the new customers who’ve never visited before. The regulars always return and I’m sure those who are visiting for the first time will continue returning again and again.”
