Going out: Advanced Camp to develop UAE’s best young footballers

Promising footballers who want to take the next step in developing their abilities do not want to miss out on the Advanced Camp which gets under way next week.

Running from Sunday, April 3, to Thursday, April 7 at Dubai’s Jebel Ali Centre of Excellence, the sessions are open for youths aged between 12 and 18.

Organised by It’s Just Football and the Football Center, the camp is designed for advanced level players at any academy or school to enhance their skills and all-round knowledge of the game.

It’s not just about learning new tricks on the field but also the mental aspects too, as the coaches will also conduct workshops on the theory elements of the beautiful game.

Each day will see the players learn the importance about the likes of nutrition, strength and conditioning, match analysis, fitness testing, as well as psychological aspects of the game.

“The camp will develop day to day with players learning about different aspects of the game,” said Kane Cowburn, head coach and director of Advanced Camp.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“These include working specifically on technique, semi-opposed where players will look at breaking down blocks and playing through lines.

“Players will also test themselves in a competitive environment as well as in small sided games with different scenarios and a variety of aims to push the players and challenge them as much as possible.”

The camp will be delivered by UEFA A and B licenced coaches with a wealth of experience whoknow what is required to reach the top.

“This is a great camp for those footballers who really want to take their game a level up,” said Cowburn. “This is a first-of-its-kind camp in the UAE aimed specifically for advanced level footballers and we believe there are plenty of positives from taking part.

“It’s not just how about improving as a player on the field, they will also learn how crucial nutrition, mentality and communication is because they are key to anyone being a successful footballer.”

Sessions take place from 09:00 to 12:00 each day, while youngsters can choose to attend one or the full five days.

One day costs Dh200, while the full week at Dh1,000.
There will be also be pick-up and drop-off points at Dubai Marina and the Football Square at Al Quoz.

“With matches and opportunities to learn something new, this is one footballers will thoroughly enjoy,” said Cowburn.
