Going Out: Head to Al Forsan for a feast of sport and hit the bulls eye

The premier sporting destination in the nation’s capital is still offering a discount until April 1, allowing residents to pay only Dh7,000 for an individual membership and Dh13,300 for the entire family. Members can enjoy 25 per cent off on sporting activities and 15 per cent off dining.

Use that discount to saddle up in the show jumping competition, in which riders can show off their equestrian skills in classes relevant to their level. The sessions will be held on March 28 and again on May 3, lasting from 15:00 to 20:00.

The entry fee for the competition is Dh120 per person, with Dh20,000 worth of prizes awarded to the winners.

If you feel more at home on a racing track, then the adrenaline-pumping Abu Dhabi Sports Council Grand Prix is for you.

Drivers over the age of 16 can hit the circuit for the three-round competition, getting under way on March 17, followed by May 5 and finally October 27. The first place winner will walk away with Dh6,000, while second place will earn Dh4,000 and third place netting Dh2,000.

Registration costs Dh450 and will close at 19:00 on the day before each round, so make sure to sign up for your chance to show off your karting prowess.

Gunslingers, meanwhile, can take aim in Al Forsan’s shooting range in the Abu Dhabi Sports Council Bull’s Eye Competition.

Archery is just one of the sports on offer with competitions also being held.

The seniors, aged 21 and over, will shoot 9mm pistols and juniors, aged 15 and above, will fire off 22 cal. pistols in the contest which runs from March 1 to April 20.

Prizes for the 9mm pistol competition will be Dh5,000 for first, Dh3,000 for second and Dh2,000 for third, while the 22 cal. pistol winnings will be Dh3,000 for first, Dh2,000 for second and Dh1,000 for third.

Seniors can enter for Dh200 and re-enter for Dh150, and juniors can enter for Dh175 and re-enter for Dh50.
