Cristiano Ronaldo broke more Champions League records as he inspired Real Madrid to a 3-0 victory against Juventus in the first leg of their quarter-final clash.

Ronaldo netted twice as Zinedine Zidane’s side gave themselves a three-goal advantage to take back to Madrid for the second leg in a week’s time, with the Portuguese international setting up Marcelo for the third.

Here we take a look at some of the key stats to come out of the game between Madrid and the Old Lady.

– Sergio Ramos received his 36th yellow card in the Champions League, equalling Paul Scholes for the most in the competition.

– Real Madrid became the first side to score 200 Champions League goals in away matches when Ronaldo netted his first against Juventus.

– Juventus’ 23-match unbeaten home run in the Champions League came to an end. It was their first home defeat in the competition since a 2-0 home loss to Bayern in April 2013.

– On the 199 previous occasions the away team has won the first leg of a European tie 3-0, that team has always progressed to the next round.
