The talk surrounding Paul Pogba’s relationship with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is not about to let up as the Frenchman is set to start on the bench in the clash against Sevilla on Wednesday night.

According to reports, the midfielder has travelled to Spain but will not feature in the starting eleven and will oly be afforded a spot on the bench.

Whether that is down to a reportedly strained relationship with the manager or his failure to recover from the illness that kept him out of the FA Cup win over Huddersfield remains unclear.

While Mourinho has admitted that Pogba’s form has dipped, he also brushed off suggestions of a rift between himself and the player.

However, naming him on the bench will only spark more speculation especially given the fact that the midfielder took part in a full training session on Tuesday, one that was curiously made visible to media.

‘I opened the training session today and I opened in a period where we normally don’t open,’ he said. ‘We normally do it in the warming-up and in the first simple drills of the training session, and this time we did it for quite a long time, and in the last period so you could see the players in a competitive situation.
