1) MESUT OZIL (Arsenal) – 9.0

The German controlled the tempo of the game and capped off an impressive showing with a second-half hat-trick.

All three goals in the first treble of his career were expertly taken as the 28-year-old pulled the strings in midfield to stretch Arsenal’s unbeaten run to 11 games.

His touch to cushion a ball over the top perfectly into his path for his first goal was a thing of beauty and a reminder of just why Arsene Wenger loosened his purse-strings for a play of his class.

2) GIANLUIGI BUFFON (Juventus) – 8.6

He’s been in the game for two decades but hasn’t slowed down one bit. The evergreen Gianluigi Buffon produced three outstanding saves in particular to quite simply win the game for Juventus against Lyon.

Saving Lacazette’s penalty was just the start. The Italian showed great reflexes to stop Fekir’s deflected strike before keeping Tolisso’s header from crossing the line.

3) LIONEL MESSI (Barcelona) – 8.5

Messi does it again…and again, and again. There’s no stopping the Argentine maestro, especially when goals are handed to him on a plate.

In addition to his latest hat-trick, he also won a penalty which was missed by Neymar, who then benefitted by an assist from Messi for the final goal.

4) JOSHUA KIMMICH (Bayern Munich) – 8.3

If you’re a bit taken aback by Joe Allen’s purple patch in the Premier League, Joshua Kimmich’s streak of seven goals in his last eight games is downright freaky.

He was solid in midfield and did well to get on the end of David Alaba’s cross for his goal.

5) ARJEN ROBBEN (Bayern Munich) – 8.3

The Dutchman was in inspired form against his former side and terrorised the defence throughout. He was the chief threat as his run and shot led to Robert Lewandowski’s goal before he got himself on the score sheet in the closing stages.
