The events in Under-10, Under-12 and Under-14 categories were endorsed throughout the season by the Pro League Committee, Dubai Sports Council, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and the UAE FA, in an attempt to encourage participation among kids.

Blue Camels from Dubai claimed the U10 title, Abu Dhabi’s International School of Choueifat took the U12 prize when Al Maarifa Private School of Sharjah were crowned U14 titles.

The teams received their trophies and medals from Suhail Al Areefi, CEO of the Pro League Committee, while the winning schools were gifted a pair of signed boots from one of three global superstars – Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Phillip King, Head of Retail Banking at tournament backers Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, said: “It really is amazing to see how much the ADIB Future Champions League has grown in just two years. To have school children from all over the UAE taking part is wonderful.

“With the support of our key partners we will continue to grow this initiative for as many children as possible, as part of our commitment to the youth of this country.”

Hamad Mohammad Ibrahim of 2013-14 AGL champions Al Ahli FC had earlier made a guest appearance to greet the participants and offer encouragement on the day.

Schools from five cities —Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, Sharjah and Ajman — took part on finals day, with over 2000 youngsters from across the UAE involved.
