Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin after the France international completed a medical late on Sunday night.
The fee and length of contract are yet to be announced but the 25-year-old is set to join up with fellow new signings Bastian Schweinsteiger, Matteo Darmian and Memphis Depay, as the club leave for a pre-season tour of America on Monday.
It signals Louis van Gaal’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window in what has been a busy last few days for executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
Meanwhile, United striker Robin van Persie was greeted by a raucous reception as he touched down in Istanbul to complete his move to Turkish giants Fenerbache on Sunday.
Van Persie was greeted by a fanfare of Fenerbahce supporters who were eager to meet their soon-to-be forward. And he couldn’t hide his delight at the hero’s welcome.
“I have seen a lot over the years but I have never seen anything like this,” the 31-year-old said. “I hope that I’m going to make you happy… it’s an honour.”

According to reports, Van Persie’s transfer fee will be around £3.4 million (Dh19m).
