Real Madrid are reportedly prioritising the signing of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to add some quality in midfield.

Los Blancos have already completed the signing of Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic and are on the verge of tying down Lyon full-back Ferland Mendy.

With most weak areas on the pitch covered, Madrid are now eyeing reinforcements in midfield to take them to the next level.

Marca reported that World Cup-winning midfielder Pogba could sign for the Spanish giants this window.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane’s admiration for his countryman is no secret and it is believed that he’s the one pulling the strings for this transfer.

United will not let go of the midfielder for less than €150 million and it is believed that Pogba’s reluctance to continue at Old Trafford could help Madrid lower the fee.

Project Pogba has hence put Madrid’s pursuit of Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek on hold.
