One of the finest talents in the world, Junior Firpo has earned the praise of Real Betis team-mate and former Barcelona defender Marc Bartra.

The left-back has been linked to a host of top European clubs, including the Spanish heavy-weights Barca and Real Madrid.

The interest shown by the former has been spiraling, following a disappointing end to the season. Firpo is viewed as a Jordi Alba back-up as the Blaugrana attempt to add depth to that position.

The 22-year-old was heavily praised by Bartra, who has predicted a high ceiling for the youngster. However, the centre-back added that he prefers if Firpo stayed at Betis at the moment.

“He is a player who has shown that he has a lot of potential, quality and the ability of being in the right place at the right time,” said Bartra, according to Marca.

“He is fine at Betis at the moment and I hope we can continue enjoying him here.”
