Highly sought-after Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt confirmed that he is yet to take a decision on his future.

After leading Ajax to a domestic double and a top-four finish in the Champions League, the centre-back has been the topic of several transfer rumours, with Barcelona and Manchester United emerging as leading suitors.

The English club have reportedly offered the player higher than what Barcelona have and were hence leading the race, until De Ligt admitted that he has not taken a decision on his future yet.

“Obviously the Premier League is a big competition, in Spain also,” he told ESPN, revealing his doubts.

“I still don’t know anything about where my future is.

“First we have to play two games and then after that I’ll see what happens next.”

The 19-year-old will feature for the Netherlands in their UEFA Nations League semi-final date with England next week. The winner will take on one of Portugal or Switzerland in the final.
