Real Madrid planning summer splash that could land both Eden Hazard and Neymar

Real Madrid haven’t made a Galactico signing in a while – but now they’re being linked with two in the same summer.

Both Eden Hazard and Neymar have been linked with the club over the last couple of years, but conventional thinking seemed to imply that only one could actually end up in Madrid.

However, according to Le10Sport, Los Blancos believe they can land both.

Chelsea‘s Hazard has always looked like the more likely player to move to Madrid, given that his contract at the London club is running out in a year and that he has often spoken of his love for the La Liga giants.

A move for Neymar would be more complicated, as Paris Saint-Germain would be loathe to lose their star player – and Madrid could be forced into paying more than the €222million record fee the Ligue 1 club paid Barcelona for the Brazilian’s signature.

Neymar’s Barca history also makes the move more difficult, not so much for the club as for the player as the 27-year-old would have to consider the reaction from his former club, and especially their fans, if he joins their fiercest rivals – though, ultimately, if he wants to play for Madrid, that aspect is unlikely to stop him.

PSG may actually be forced into selling Neymar, given that there is a cloud over the club over their financial dealings. UEFA reopened a Financial Fair Play investigation into the Paris club in September, and though they’ve denied that they may have to sell Neymar or Kylian Mbappe to comply with UEFA’s rules, that may indeed come to pass.
