Cesc Fabregas says former Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard has “always” liked Real Madrid as speculation over the forward’s future continues.

Monaco midfielder Fabregas, who played alongside Hazard at Chelsea for four-and-a-half seasons before leaving last month, says the Belgian has made no secret of his admiration for Madrid.

Hazard has long been linked with a move to Madrid, and with his contract expiring next summer, the upcoming transfer window could be the one where a transfer finally happens.

The 28-year-old revealed earlier this week that he had made a decision on his future and would reveal it soon.

“Let’s see what he decides to do. He has a year and a half left and he is happy at Chelsea and so is his family,” Fabregas told Radio Marca.

“But in the end they are very personal decisions. He likes Madrid and he has always said it.

“Hopefully he will renew with Chelsea, but if he does not he will finish in Madrid.”
