Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar is set to sign a new contract at the club and snub interest from Manchester United and Barcelona.

The Slovakian defender has repeatedly been linked with a move away from Inter, though Skriniar has always stated his desire to stay at the Milan club whenever asked.

Last week, he hit out at reports suggesting he would look to force an exit if Inter brought in a new centre-back, with the club linked with Diego Godin, reiterated his intention to stay with the Nerazzurri.

Barcelona and United are both looking for defensive reinforcements but it seems the 23-year-old will not be moving to either.

“You all know I want to stay at Inter,” Skriniar told Tuttosport.

“I have a great relationship with the club and the directors. We’re talking and we’re close to an agreement.

“I have not won anything yet in my career and I have come to Inter to do this. Inter have not won a trophy for a while and the club wants it and the fans dream about it. If I can win with Inter I will be even happier.”
