Real Madrid are interested in a winter switch for Genoa’s in-demand forward Krzysztof Piatek, according to SPORT.

Los Blancos are pushing for a move that could see the Poland international switch to the Bernabeu, but on the condition that the initial move will be a loan deal.

The 23-year-old took Serie A by storm this season, netting an incredible 19 goals in 21 appearances after his summer move from Cracovia Krakow.

Genoa paid just €4.5m for the striker but his value has reportedly inflated to a great extent. Madrid will have to spend at least €60m to tie him to the club in a permanent deal.

Having scored just 26 goals in 18 games in La Liga this term, fifth placed Madrid could definitely do with a striker of his quality and a player who has the chance to become a real star at the club.

Karim Benzema has been poor and Gareth Bale has been unimpressive on the rare occasions that he’s match-fit.
