Manchester United are monitoring Roma defender Kostas Manolas, according to the Daily Star.

Interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bolster his back-line and the Greece international has emerged as a top target.

The 27-year-old has grown into one of Serie A’s best defenders and his displays have not gone unnoticed by Solskjaer.

Reports in Italy state that both player and club have been informed of the Red Devils’ intent to pay his release clause of £32 million.
