Having failed to bring in Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric to their ranks, Inter are reportedly considering a return for Mateo Kovacic.

The midfielder left the Nerazzurri in 2015 and decided to test himself in La Liga, donning Los Blancos’ colours.

Currently the midfielder is playing under Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea after the London-based clubs acquired his services on a loan deal.

An option to buy was not included in the deal which sent the Croatian from Inter to Real Madrid but Tuttosport believes that Nerazzuri are weighing up the possibility of signing Kovacic.

It is known that sporting director Piero Ausilio wants to sign a creative midfielder after he tried signing Modric in the summer.
