The January transfer window is poised to open with Premier League clubs ready to spend for glory or survival.

Here, Press Association Sport looks at possible movers in the winter window.

Eden Hazard

The Chelsea star has been continually linked with Real Madrid.

Hazard has 18 months left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge and has spoken publicly about his desire to play for Real Madrid.

But after scoring his 100th and 101st in Boxing Day’s win at Watford he said he wanted to become a Chelsea legend. It is a saga which is likely to run and run.

Toby Alderweireld

Spurs will trigger an extension clause in the defender’s deal to tie him to the club until 2021 but they are just protecting themselves with Alderweireld out of contract in the summer.

He can leave for £25million, his release clause, and it would be a huge surprise if Manchester United do not come in for him again.

The uncertainty at Old Trafford after Jose Mourinho’s exit could affect their pursuit of the defender but it would be a surprise if there was no interest.

Isco

Isco has fallen out of favour under new Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari and could be a makeweight in any deal for Hazard.

He has not started in La Liga under Solari and made just two starts in the Copa Del Rey and Champions League.

At 26 years old the midfielder is experienced enough but could command a big fee, although he may bide his time to see if Solari stays beyond the summer.

Ivan Perisic

Inter Milan midfielder Perisic is said to be interesting Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, along with Manchester United.

Perisic rejected United in 2017 to stay with Inter Milan so it might be a fight to convince him to leave the San Siro.

But reports in Italy suggest Inter are ready to cash in on the Croatia international who could cost around £45million.

Christian Pulisic

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been credited with an interest in the Borussia Dortmund winger.

He could leave the Westfalenstadion after the emergence of Jadon Sancho and has 18 months left on his contract.

Bayern Munich were also reportedly interested but that has cooled ahead of January.

Yaya Toure

In what is likely to be an expensive window, Toure is available on a free transfer after leaving Olympiakos.

The midfielder’s three-month stay in Greece ended in December after just two starts and two substitute appearances.

He has Premier League experience, winning the title three times with Manchester City. He will command big wages and has been linked with West Ham and Crystal Palace.

Aaron Ramsey

The Wales international will be a bargain free transfer in the summer but he could leave Arsenal in January.

Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Juventus have all been linked with the midfielder, with the Gunners withdrawing their contract offer in October.

He has still featured in 16 of Arsenal’s 19 Premier League games this term but has started just seven of them.

Callum Wilson

Chelsea’s striker issues have seen them turn their attention to Bournemouth hot-shot Wilson.

He has scored eight goals this season and scored against the United States on his England debut in November.

The Cherries will fight to keep the 26-year-old but could find it hard if Chelsea put their money where their mouth is.

Cesc Fabregas

The World Cup winner has started just once in the Premier League this season and warned Chelsea he will attract “many clubs” in January.

His deal expires at the end of the season and the midfielder can sign a pre-contract agreement from January 1.

AC Milan and Monaco have been credited with an interest while Manchester City have been linked as they search for back-up to Fernandinho.

Emiliano Sala

Cardiff are chasing the Nantes forward and the deals done by the struggling clubs in January will have a bearing on who survives.

Sala has netted 13 times in France this season and a goalscorer is what every side craves, with Cardiff averaging less than a goal a game.

With nine points separating the Premier League’s bottom seven teams January is a crucial time.

Junior Firpo

Real Betis left-back Junior Firpo has turned heads with his attacking displays in La Liga this season and Madrid are interested in signing him.

With Marcelo having missed out through injury earlier in the season, Firpo is viewed as a potential long-term replacement for the 30-year-old Brazilian.

Meanwhile, City are also keeping a close eye on the 22-year-old full-back as Pep Guardiola has grown frustrated with Benjamin Mendy’s injury woes.

Mauro Icardi

Interest from Madrid for Inter Milan hitman Mauro Icardi has cooled in recent months but the striker remains one of the most potent goal threats in Europe.

The Argentine forward is in his prime and is eager to compete for silverware, something he doesn’t believe is forthcoming at Inter.

Spain was always his ideal destination but with Los Blancos backing off, he may look to answer Chelsea’s calls for a prolific goalscorer as new manager Maurizio Sarri hasn’t been impressed with either Olivier Giroud or Alvaro Morata.

Adrien Rabiot

Barcelona have denied any agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for midfielder Adrien Rabiot but confirmed that contact over a potential transfer has been made.

The La Liga champions are eager to boost their midfield options and while a summer move is likely, the switch may be expedited as Ernesto Valverde looks to retain the league title.

Nicolas Pepe

Nicolas Pepe has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal during the January transfer window.

However, the striker, who is valued at £72 million, has insisted that he will only consider leaving Lille in the summer.

The 23-year-old is one of the hottest prospects around having scored 12 times and provided five assists over 19 games in Ligue 1 this season.

Luka Modric

Inter may finally act on their long-standing interest in Luka Modric.

The Serie A outfit habours dreams of signing the Ballon d’Or winner and even toyed with the idea in the summer.

The Croatia international is under contract at the Bernabeu until 2020 but reports suggest he has rejected a renewal offer from the club.

Modric appears open to the idea of moving to Inter who are said to have tabled an offer.
