A splendid start to the season with Real Betis has earned Junior Firpo interest form Real Madrid according to SPORT.

Los Blancos believe the 22-year-old could be the ideal substitute for Marcelo and a starter in the future.

Sergio Reguilon is the only natural left-back at the Bernabeu who can stand in for the Brazilian, but it appears the European Champions don’t view the young Spaniard as a long-term option.

Junior is an attack-minded full-back who has the ability to track back to perform his defensive duties, just like Marcelo.

The Dominican Republic international has a buy-out clause of €50 million, a sum that Real Madrid are willing to pay to secure his services.
