Miguel Angel Gil Marin, the chief executive at Atletico Madrid, has finally broken the silence on the rumours linking Lucas Hernandez to a winter move to Bayern Munich.

He maintained that the Word Cup Winner will stay with Los Colchoneros until the end of the season. A deal for a transfer in July can be negotiated, but the player won’t be leaving the club in January.

“We have a very good relationship with Bayern Munich and we’ll meet with them in January to discuss the situation,” he told Goal and Spox.

“The player cannot leave in this winter market.

“If the player wants to leave then we’ll speak about it, but for July.”

It would be a major blow for Atleti if Hernandez decides to ply his trade for the German giants next month. The Frenchman is a crucial part of their back-line and Los Rojiblancos can’t afford to lose him mid-season.
