Alvaro Morata would ‘return to Italy in a heartbeat’ if a move to AC Milan was on the cards, according to Calciomercato.

The 26-year-old is eager to leave Chelsea after struggling for form since his switch from Real Madrid last July.

AC Milan are keen to offer the Spaniard an escape route out of West London.

Morata spent two years at Juventus, scoring 27 goals in 93 appearances before returning to Los Blancos for one season and then signed for the Blues.

At Stamford Bridge, the Madrid native has failed to fire, netting just 16 goals in 45 matches.
