Anthony Martial’s agent Philippe Lanboley insists a new long-term deal for his client is ‘nowhere near’ being signed.

The Frenchman, who is currently under contract at Manchester United until 2020, has been angling for a move away from Old Trafford in recent months but the club are determined to keep hold of him.

United signed Martial from Monaco for £36 million in 2015, making him the world’s most expensive teenager at the time. But a lack of playing time under Jose Mourinho has left the 22-year-old frustrated with the likes of Tottenham interested in swooping for his signature.

“I am very pessimistic about discussions going positively,” Lamboley told RMC Sport.

“They‘ve already made several offers that come nowhere near to what we expect.”
