Everton could be about to offer forgotten talent Reece Oxford an escape route out of West Ham United, according to the Daily Mail.

Oxford, 20, has reportedly failed to impress Manuel Pellegrini in training after his return from a season-long loan at Borussia Monchengladbach. The defender has not been given any minutes in the Premier League, leading to links with a move away.

A loan move was expected for the London-born youngster. But the Toffees will move to the front of the queue of clubs offering a permanent switch in January.

Monchengladbach and champions Manchester City remain interested. It is the offer of regular minutes at Everton, however, that could prove most alluring.
