Manchester City have set an asking price of €20million for Real Madrid target Brahim Diaz, according to a report from Marca.

The 19-year-old will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season, with City failing so far to sign him to a new contract, but Madrid are looking into the possibility of signing the player in January in order to ward off other suitors, with Paris Saint-Germain said to be interested as well.

However, the reigning European champions have reportedly offered only €10million, leaving the two clubs some ways apart in their valuation of the player.

Diaz has been seeking assurances regarding his playing time at City, having seen limited opportunities despite breaking into the first-team last year. This season, he has made three appearances, scoring twice.

City recently tied down Diaz’s academy teammate Phil Foden to a long-term contract, but seem to have accepted that their chances of doing the same with the Malaga-born midfielder are low.

Madrid will be free to negotiate directly with the player on January 1 – though again only with regards to a move next summer.
