AC Milan are set to move for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to the Express.

The 31-year-old Spaniard’s current deal expires next summer but Blues coach Maurizio Sarri wants the hierarchy to give the midfielder an extension for at least another 12 months.

Fabregas, who joined Chelsea from Barcelona in 2014, has yet to hold talks with any club over his future despite claims that AC Milan are in pole position to secure his services should a deal at Stamford Bridge fall through.

AC Milan sporting director Leonardo said: “We evaluated it, considering the possibility, but didn’t go all in. We are still evaluating the conditions.”
