Rafinha Alcantara was close to joining Real Betis over the summer but negotiations broke down and the Brazilian was forced to stay at Barcelona.

Rumours about the midfielder’s exit in the January transfer window are circulating in the Spanish media and Real Betis boss Quique Setien has not ruled out the possibility of signing the 25-year-old.

“I always like great footballers,” Setien replied when asked if Betis will sign Rafinha.

“I don’t think about that, as I have a year and a half left on my contract here,” he said.

“I am happy and everything else, such as what happened in the summer with the national team links, are things that I can’t control.”
