Failing to sign the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the summer, Barcelona now look to rope in the Frenchman on a free transfer in the next summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old has reportedly given the informal ‘yes’ to his suitor and will be able to formalise it in the new year by signing a pre-contract.

Rabiot has rejected renewals from PSG and Mundo Deportivo have stated that the prospect of joining the Spanish giants entices him. Barcelona have been in contact with his mother, who also represents him as his agent.

Acquiring a player of such high quality for free could prove to be some astute business from the Blaugrana outfit and it comes with a low risk.

Losing him for free would be a blow for PSG, as he could have fetched a huge sum.
