Frenkie De Jong continues to impress with Ajax and Netherlands but while the midfielder has long since been linked with a move to Barcelona, he appears to favour Real Madrid.

Because of his style of play which aids a possession-based system, De Jong has always seemed destined for Camp Nou.

However, the 21-year-old’s Instagram account activity will encourage Madrid who are also interested in acquiring his services.

According to AS, De Jong has ‘liked’ several Los Blancos posts recently, including one confirming the appointment of Santiago Solari and two following their 5-0 Champions League win over Viktoria Plzen.

In September, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported Madrid would pay up to €80m to sign the player.
